 KOPL 2008

Kids on Public Land, KOPL, is an Off Highway Voluteer program created by Off Roaders for the purpose of bringing inner-city kids up to the San Bernardino National Forest for an outdoor experience. The kids are assigned to a volunteer 4x4 driver for a trail ride in the backwoods of the San Bernardino Mountains. Other activities include getting up close and personal with a fire truck and a motorcycle, gold panning, hearing about the animals who live in the forest and what to do if you become lost in the forest. Hamburgers and hot dogs are cooked for the kids and volunteers. After the day long event the kids are given a goodie bag to take home.
KOPL is the result of the combined efforts of businesses, the Anahiem YMCA, Anahiem PAL Program (Police Activities League), The San Bernardino National Forest, members of Off Road Clubs and volunteers from the SBNF OHV Program. 2008 was the 10th year of providing the KOPL activities to 100 kids and over 100 volunteers. A portion of the profits from prints ordered online will go toward next year's event.
